Digital support for Cartoon Movement
The award-winning online platform for political cartoons and cartoon journalism brings together professional cartoonists and fans of political satire worldwide. A robust new multi-domain platform now supports their important mission: promoting editorial cartooning, supporting their often brave creators and defending our freedom of expression.
Founder and editor-in-chief Tjeerd Royaards says he is very pleased with the result: "After 10 years of faithful service, our site was badly in need of an update. We are very happy with the sleek, simplified design, in which the cartoons come into their own. And we immediately received a lot of positive feedback about the clear navigation. In addition, the site now serves both picture editors looking for cartoons for their publication and people who like to see cartoons. Because the site is now also easily accessible on mobile, our audience will only continue to grow. This feels like a big step forward; now we are truly ready for the future!"
From its inception, now some 15 years ago, Unc Inc has focused on organizations and projects with a social mission. According to co-founder and lead developer in this project Roderik de Langen, this intrinsic motivation brings out the best in the team. "It's actually a very simple thing: you want to work on something that you think makes sense, that has value for the world we live in. Who wouldn't want to make something you can be proud of? I am not a doomsayer but there is reason enough to be concerned about some developments. We are therefore proud to contribute to Cartoon Movement's important mission, to build a platform for the voice of independent and critical thinking."
