New to Unc Inc: Daniel Tiebor

We are ambitious. And especially in the positive impact we want to have on people, society and the environment. But because we make that impact primarily in collaboration with kindred brands and organizations, Daniel is going to help expand our network in that regard. A first acquaintance with our new partnerships manager: Daniel Tiebor.

Why did you choose Unc Inc?

I originally come from the creative sector. There I worked as a multimedia designer and did a lot of concepts, magazines, websites and events. I know the founders of Unc Inc well from festivals and parties that we used to go to together and a couple of them I regularly ran into on the terrace. The timing was perfect and our vision on work is very similar. I really enjoy working with friends and creating beautiful things together. I have seen Unc Inc grow over the years and I am proud to be part of it now.

Many creatives turn their nose up at sales. Why did you take that step, what do you like about it? And do you still sometimes miss your work as a creative?

I attended many sales pitches when I was still working as a creative. I always got a huge kick out of it when we landed a job. So when I was looking for a new challenge a few years ago, I made a conscious choice for sales. It is a completely different discipline but as a results-oriented person it suits me very well.

For me, sales is all about finding the best solutions. You have to be a good listener to get a clear picture of the challenge and be creative to formulate the best answer. If you do that well, you lay the foundation for a lasting relationship between client and customer.

In my spare time I still like to be creative but mainly with photography, preferably during vacations in Japan or the US. It almost doesn't matter what you photograph there, everything looks super!

What is your first impression of Unc Inc?

There is a professional but also informal atmosphere here at Unc Inc and there is a good balance between young and old which I really like. There is a no-nonsense mentality which I really like and everyone is very helpful. That makes me feel right at home. I also work partly at home, but I also find the office space very pleasant...every morning on the ferry to the NDSM terrain is a zen moment!

What are you going to work on in the coming time?

I am going to focus on bringing in partners who want to use technology and design to make a difference for people and the world. In addition, I will get to know all my colleagues better, also to discover who is best to involve in certain issues. Together with my colleagues Floris and Jos we form a close team and I am really looking forward to celebrating great successes together.

Like Daniel, do you want to work on meaningful digital products?

In a young and friendly team, we work on meaningful projects. But whatever we create is always an intense interplay of individuals. That's why we look beyond the list of professional skills to your human qualities and help you develop both. Curious?
