Unc Inc tenth anniversary

Ten years ago we stood at the Chamber of Commerce to register Unc Inc as an official company, not long after that we settled into a small office in Amsterdam West. During our freelance period we had already experienced what it was like to work together. Pretty soon we found out that we could get more out of ourselves and our work by combining our specialties.

We didn't know much about entrepreneurship yet and we didn't want a loan from the bank. So it became a freelance collective. What came in was divided according to knowledge and availability. Soon we discovered that having our own company involves more than just realizing some projects for clients; Slowly the structure within our company began to change.

Once we had been on the road for several years, our client base grew by the day. A Project Manager was no luxury and so Eltjo Smit came on board as the first official employee at Unc Inc. He made sure that there was a clear structure within the company and the way of working. In the years that followed, more and more people came on board. Each with their own qualities and abilities.

With a lot of trial and error, we got to where we are today. We have a great team and many partners. All have their own qualities which reflect while working together on diverse, versatile and innovative projects.

We are very proud of what we have achieved so far, but even more looking forward to the successes we hope to achieve in the coming years. In the months leading up to this tenth anniversary, we started thinking about what we do, for what reason we do it, how we do it, and what we would and could change or improve in the future. With the results, we revised our entire organizational structure, our methods, our communications and mission.

We are ready for the next ten years and that was cause for a good celebration!

We would like to thank several people. Namely our friends Rui and Ramon, who made sure that all the lighting and sound was well organized. Giogia, Nula and Nina we thank for their role as hostesses. Thanks to Christiaan Krop for the photos and Wim Dijksterhuis for the video. We thank Erik and Jonas from Thirty-X. They helped us revamp our strategy, moreover, they drew a live timeline during the Unc Inc party using input from guests. We also thank Herman van Gelder, a friend of Unc Inc with whom we worked on many creative projects. We also thank him for drawing hilarious caricatures of the guests. We are grateful to DJs Niels and Walter for getting their feet off the floor. They were also our partners in Infaders, one of our first interactive projects that provided many unforgettable experiences and moments. Pieter Both, whom we have known from the beginning of Unc Inc, we thank for his contribution and performance with Max Meser during the party. We have done many projects for his band Beef and we are still working together on several innovative projects.

Last but not least, we are only too happy to thank our clients, partners, friends and family for celebrating this beautiful evening of our 10th anniversary with us. Many glasses were poured, the feet went off the floor and there was plenty of laughter. It was a success. Thank you all!
