Research at the Rijksmuseum
As the Rijksmuseum's "embedded researcher," Johanna Barnbeck is currently working on a project called "Augmented Masterpieces. She uses a set of creative and scientific methods to map visitor experiences. Furthermore, she is also using this set to explore augmented reality within the museum context and how production (digital) techniques can be integrated into academic research projects.
Johanna asked us to help her research possible implementations of the technology. The first step in this process was a tour of the Rijksmuseum where Johanna showed us the behavior of visitors and made us aware of the unused spaces in the building.
We look forward to the upcoming sessions where we will discuss technical solutions and prototypes.
