Booster of a circular packaging supply chain
Packaging has an important function in our way of life. However, if they are reduced to waste after use, they lose their value and are a burden on the environment. In the Netherlands, these costs are borne by producers and importers. However, if they serve as raw material for new packaging, these costs can be reduced to zero. Making packaging fully circular, however, requires close cooperation throughout the chain. As director of that cooperation, Afvalfonds Verpakkingen is responsible on behalf of producers for the collection, sorting and recycling of packaging in the Netherlands.
Leading in recycling
Not many people know that we lead the world in packaging recycling. Yet the Dutch Packaging Waste Fund is not content with that; they won't stop until packaging is fully circular. They do this not only by maximizing the financial contribution of producers and importers, but also by promoting knowledge sharing and cooperation throughout the chain. This cuts both ways because when the burden on the environment is reduced to zero, the same happens with the costs for business.
Working together for a cleaner world
In addition to our close cooperation with waste collector and re-user HVC, the collaboration with Afvalfonds Verpakkingen means that we can now digitally support a second partner in the waste chain. We do this out of the conviction that creativity and technology can make the world a little nicer.
