'Coding the Humanities' hackathon at A-Lab

Yesterday we hosted a hackathon at A-Lab for students taking the "Coding the Humanities" course at the UvA. The students got the chance to work with real code experts to experience what it is like to work in the world of developers. After the hackathon, a panel discussion took place with Patrick Camacho (Senior Software Engineer at Twitter and entrepreneur), Greg Varias (Dev Bootcamp graduate, admissions officer and coach), Carmen Popoviciu (front-end developer at ING) and our own Floris de Langen (Creative Director at Unc Inc). The discussion was moderated by Prof. Jan Hein Hoogstad, once a philosopher and today a self-taught developer.
