Augmenting masterpieces
Commissioned by the University of Amsterdam, Johanna Barnbeck spent most of 2014 researching visitor behavior and social interaction within the Rijksmuseum. Unc Inc was approached as a technology partner and last week we spent two days doing fieldwork at the Rijksmuseum, testing a prototype.
Beacons were placed in an area of the Rijksmuseum and visitors were given an app that allowed them to discover input from other visitors about works of art, adding a social aspect to a museum visit.
It was a great experience to be able to work among the masterpieces in the museum.
